The Archdiocese of Washington’s annual Walk with Mary procession and Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Americas, will take place on Saturday Dec. 10.
The processions begin at noon at two locations, at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart at 16th Street and Park Road, N.W., and at Holy Name Church at 920 11th Street, N.E. The marchers will process through the streets of Washington to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at Fourth Street and Michigan Ave., N.E., where Confessions will be heard starting at 1 p.m., and the rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m.
Then a Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe will be held at the National Shrine at 2:30 p.m, Cardinal Donald Wuerl will be the main celebrant at the Mass, and the homilist will be Washington Auxiliary Bishop Mario Dorsonville.
