Women from the Archdiocese of Washington are gathering via Facebook Live to pray a rosary in thanksgiving for the gift of the feminine genius and for the grace to become guardians of culture on Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m.

The gathering is taking place on the morning of the Women’s March on Washington, which is expected to attract around 200,000 people to stand up for women’s rights. The organizers of the march have refused to allow pro-life women’s groups to be partners in the march, and Planned Parenthood is the lead financial sponsor.

“It is sad that all women are not included in the March for Women tomorrow, and we felt like we wanted to do something that celebrated all women,” said Kim Fiorentino, the chancellor of the Archdiocese of Washington. “We believe the Blessed Mother is a wonderful role model for all women, and we know she intervenes for us.”

The prayer will be taking place immediately before the National Prayer Service for the 58th Presidential Inauguration, which will be held at 10 a.m. at the Washington National Cathedral. Cardinal Wuerl will be participating in the interfaith service to pray for the new president and the country.

All people are invited to join the rosary. The Facebook event can be found at https://www.facebook.com/events/469014593486273/ and the live video to accompany the rosary will be found at facebook.com/adw.org.
