Cardinal Gregory to celebrate Juneteenth Mass on June 18 at Mount Calvary Church

To commemorate the upcoming federal holiday Juneteenth, which recognizes the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in 1865, Mount Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, Maryland, will host a special Mass on Sunday June 18 at 10:30 a.m. Washington Cardinal Wilton Gregory and Auxiliary Bishop Roy E. Campbell, Jr. will celebrate the Mass and offer a special blessing for Father's Day. 

The Mass will include music performed by Mount Calvary’s choir, which includes adults, teens and children. Those interested in the choir’s performance prior to the Mass should plan to arrive at 10:15 am. Several members of the adult choir sang at the 2022 National Christmas Tree Lighting

Those in attendance will receive a prayer card commemorating the day.
