Maryland’s Catholic Advocacy Day is Feb. 15

The Maryland's Catholic Conference’s annual Catholic Advocacy Day is today, Thursday, Feb. 15. It is a time for Catholics statewide to lift up their collective voices before Maryland state senators and delegates on issues that matter.

Participating is Easy. Visit the online Maryland Catholic Conference Action Center (https://p2a.co/DaVIeF4 or mdcatholic.org) and view the alerts.

The alerts are:

Support funding for BOOST scholarships , giving low-income families the opportunity to send their children to non-public schools.

Oppose legalizing physician assisted suicide, whichwould leave vulnerable people — elderly, ill and people with disabilities — at risk.

Support nutrition for the elderly through a supplement for seniors in the SNAP program.

Oppose human composting, which would allow human remains to be composted, resulting in dirt with human remains that can be spread in public areas — without your knowledge.

Empower Catholic school parents through a non-public school bus tax credit (also environmentally friendly).

Support local grants to address roots causes of poverty (Catholic parishes and organizations can be eligible).

Click on one of the alerts, sign and send, then go to the next (your address ensures your senator and delegates will receive your email. You will see the text of the email after clicking "review and send" and before it is sent.) You also can use patch through calling to be connected to your legislators' offices on physician assisted suicide.
