Cardinal Wilton Gregory will ordain the six newest priests of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington at a Mass on Saturday June 17 at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The six men who will be ordained as new priests for the Archdiocese of Washington include:

  • Deacon Martin Joseph Begley, 27, who grew up attending St. Raphael Parish in Rockville and St. Peter’s Parish in Olney. The oldest of seven children, he was homeschooled and then attended the University of Maryland before entering the seminary. He studied at Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington and Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday June 18 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church.
  • Deacon Taylor Gregory Colwell, 30, grew up in Georgia as a member of the Baptist Church and attended Georgetown University, where he became Catholic. He studied at Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington and the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass at St. John Neumann Church in Gaithersburg on Sunday June 18 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Deacon John Francis Lado, 25, grew up as a member of St. Patrick Parish in Rockville. The youngest of four children, he was homeschooled and attended The Catholic University of American before entering the seminary and studying at Saint John Paul II Seminary and the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday June 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Rockville.
  • Deacon Juan Pablo Noboa, 29, is from Quito, Ecuador. He is the oldest of five children and a member of the Neocatechumenal Way. He studied at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Hyattsville. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday June 18 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Waldorf.
  • Deacon Pablo Andres Villa Jaramillo, 32, is from Buga, Colombia. The oldest of three children, he is a member of the Neocatechumenal Way. He studied at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Hyattsville. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday June 18 at 10 a.m. at Nativity Church in Washington, D.C.
  • Deacon Vincent Tinh Vu, 30, is a native of Vietnam who was a member of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement. After immigrating to the United States, he became a member of Our Lady of Vietnam Parish in Silver Spring. He was a Carmelite brother before becoming a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Washington and studying at the Saint John Paul II Seminary and Theological College. Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday June 18 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Vietnam Church in Silver Spring.

On the evening before the ordination, people are invited to join those men for a Eucharistic Holy Hour on Friday June 16 at 6 p.m. at the Crypt Church in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Father Carter Griffin, the rector of Saint John Paul II Seminary, will preside and give a homily at the Holy Hour.
