Haitian pilgrimage to National Shrine

On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, more than 3,500 Haitian Catholics made a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The event is sponsored each year by the National Center of the Haitian Apostolate. The daylong event included recitation of the rosary, adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and Mass. The Mass was celebrated by Washington Cardinal Wilton Gregory, and the homilist was Charleston, South Carolina Bishop Jacques Eric Fabre-Jeune, only the second Haitian-American bishop and the first to head a diocese. (CS Photo by Tyler Orsburn)
