May Junior Saints: Mother's Day Drawings

“My mom makes yummy food. She always is there when I need help. She provides me with everything I need. I love her and she loves me.” - Hayden Estrella, fifth grade, St. Columba, Oxon Hill, Maryland

For the May Junior Saints, some students at Catholic schools and parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington drew pictures of their mothers and wrote what they love about them. Here are a few of those drawings:

“I love my mother because my mother loves me. She takes care of me and helps me through tough and stressful events in my life. When I was little, she helped me with my homework, and now she's helping me as I finish 8th grade. She has been my biggest supporter for my entire life, and I cannot thank her enough for that. Thank you, mom.” - Maricka Sembria, eighth grade St. Mary's School of Piscataway, Clinton, Maryland
“I love my mother because she is someone who brought me to life, and she teaches me ways to do good. My mother has the patience to let me learn and to know what is right. She is someone who leads me to God and she is basically doing her mission and that is to do teachings and show and teach people the way to get to God. I love my mom with all my heart because she is someone who I can talk to and someone who could make me happy.” - Megan Montero, seventh grade, St. Columba School, Oxon Hill
“I love my mom because she's always taken care of me and been there for me. She always kept my siblings and I fed and a roof over our heads.” -Cabrina Fronda, fifth grade, St. Columba School, Oxon Hill
“I love my mom because she's smart and funny. She can fix a lot of things and knows more about fixing things than my dad. She always tries her best to take care of me and my sisters even when she's sick. She is a great mom, and I love her a lot.” - Jane Fitton, fifth grade, Blessed Sacrament School, Washington, D.C.
“My mom means everything to me. I love that she is always there for me. Also I love that my mom always makes me happy when I'm upset. I love my mom so much.” - Chase Hobson, fourth grade, Blessed Sacrament School, Washington
“What I love about my mom is that she always pushes me to try, and do, my hardest. She always makes sure that I can succeed in class, and even when I don't do so well she is there to support me.” - Julia Palor, sixth grade, St. Columba School, Oxon Hill
“I love my mother because she cares for me and gives me what I need, she is as loving as she is beautiful and I love her to infinity and beyond.” -Holly Mott, sixth grade, St. Columba School, Oxon Hill
“I haven't recently seen my mother because she's in the military, but I know that if she is willing to fight that hard for the country, she'll fight even harder for me.” - Jayden Duran, seventh grade, St. Columba School, Oxon Hill
“My mom is a doctor. Since she is a doctor she works a lot, and when she is not working she has to take care of me and my three younger brothers. Even when she has to do all of this she finds time to travel with us and overall be an awesome mom. She helps me feel better when I am sad and she makes me laugh and smile every day.”  - Elisabeth Brown, fifth grade, Blessed Sacrament School, Washington
Madison Rae O'Quinn, eighth grade, St. Mary's School, Bryantown, Maryland
