Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will celebrate a Jan. 18 Mass at 4 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Washington in honor of the late civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King.
The Mass is offered each year as part of the Archdiocese of Washington’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Praise and worship will be offered prior to the Mass, beginning at 3:30 p.m., and will feature the Archdiocese of Washington’s Gospel Mass Choir.
The Mass and celebration are held annually near Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the federal holiday observed on the third Monday of January. This year, the holiday will be observed Jan. 20.
The event, sponsored by the archdiocesan Office of Cultural Diversity, is open to the public. Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is located at 3800 Ely Place, S.E.
